Details
This handmade piece is perfect for display in your kitchen window. It was most likely made in the early 1980s, when doing “stained glass” was all the rage again (…after the 1960s more dramatic flair art) as a home hobby. The style then was a little more graphic design and often Incorporated word art.
This one is a really nice simple design, with deep red and green color sections and a mix of different clear and frosted glass . It definitely has a sort of rustic, county cottage style in some of the soldering.
Note: in the upper right hand corner of the flower, there is a slight hairline crack. However, it is stable and the glass is secure/not moving at all. (a bit of clear craft glue would protect it if concerned). As with any stained glass, you’ll still need to be careful with the whole thing. There is no hanging chain. These were usually intended to lean back from inside the windowsill. (See photos for display idea)
Size: 9” wide x 15” tall
Weight: 2 lb.
Material: hand cut and assembled vintage glass pieces, solder
This artwork is fairly sturdy as made. However, handle with care because it is old glass.
